R.D. Burman uses flutes and harmonicas, along with his favourite stringed instrument, the guitar to layer these melodies. Of course, percussion remains an important feature, though not quite as pervasive as in Burman's usual fare. Parting is sweet sorrow for the young lovers in ‘Teri Yaad Aa Rahi Hai’. Amit Kumar renders this real sweet melody and is absolutely brilliant. Endearing in its naivete and young optimism, ‘Dekho Maine..’ is a simple yet appealing composition which speaks of dream houses and domesticity.
A hummable melody with the playfulness of a light romantic duet from the fifties, Yeh ‘Ladki Zarasi Diwani’, is a harmonica and percussion tune. Asha Bhosle is pure class in ‘Kya Gazab Karte Ho Jee’. The song has a RD stamp on it and Asha takes the song to a whole new different level. This one is great. The whole album is a masterpiece that makes this puppy love soundtrack a must buy.
