R.D. Burman was an explorer by right. Vasco Da Gama, Marco Polo and Christopher Columbus’ answer to Indian music. He was responsible for the entry of Rock and Roll in a big way and this album is about his best music . A great album for the freshness in Asha Bhosle’s voice, and the ‘disco’ that only R.D could create for Hindi cinema. ‘Dil Lena Khle Hai Dildar Ka’ is one of those never-to-be-forgotten tracks. ‘Hoga Tumse Pyara Kaun’ is another brilliant churn out- a brilliantly renditioned piece of music (Shailendra Singh), it’s so reminiscent of the Rishi Kapoor fad. The song is sung while on a train journey- and the sounds associated with the journey are brilliantly blended into the track. ‘Puchho Na Yaar Kya Hua’ and ‘Bolo Bolo Kuchh To Bolo’ are also beautiful tracks. Overall, the album is a gem of work and a treasure to possess.
