Rudaali would be categorised in the art-film section by critics. Often films like these tend to have music that doesn't cater to a mainstream audience. But the album did a wonderful job even with the fans of commercial cinema and soon became quiet popular. The audience loved the laudable work of Bhupen Hazarika and excellent singing by Lata Mangeshkar. Overall this is an excellent album.
